The Vouga River is one of the main rivers of central Portugal. It springs in the Sierra da Lapa (municipality of Aguiar da Beira), at an altitude of about 930 m, and flows into the Atlantic through the Ria de Aveiro lagoon — a stunning coastal wetland. Its peaceful course crosses the districts of Viseu and Aveiro, shaping green valleys and traditional landscapes.
